Ravening
A downloadable Diary for Windows, macOS, and Linux
In the summer of 1987, a construction crew unearthed the remnants of a labyrinthine structure in the ██████ mountain range. This structure, which archaeologists believe was the estate of some minor duke of a kingdom lost to time, was comprised of at least seven hundred nearly identical hallways, sixty three identical parlors, circuitous pathways leading around rooms which had no entrance nor exit, and only a single, concealed exterior door (likely for use by servants). From the records recovered in a small lodge adjacent to the estate, researchers discovered that the Duke of this region used nearly his entire fortune to continuously construct this chaotic palace and close off all of its apparent exits to the outside world. He then set fire to the village below and it is believed that he perished in the blaze. As for how the village and the Duke's estate came to be buried so deep beneath the surface, theories abound but there is, at present, no decisive evidence to explain this phenomenon.
The only other artifact recovered from the area is a worn and damaged diary found in what researchers believe was the village tavern. Its contents are presented here, unedited, for your consideration.
