Waking up after such a long time... it's kind of like being reborn, isn't it? If that's the case, then I want to do it properly, and be reborn as the person I always wished I could be. Someone who feels at ease when they look into a mirror. Someone who never feels bitterness or resentment toward their friends. Someone without the gnawing weight of that memory scratching at my skin until it burns. 

There's no way rebirth would ever work like that, is there?

Higurashi If/Eve is a fangame set in the post-canon timeline following the Matsuribayashi chapter, focusing on December of 1983. Compared to June of that same year, the danger is slight and the difficulty is minor, but even so there is a vicious path leading us toward the new year. Can we all reach 1984, even if the past is still clawing at our backs and each new step is so painful? Can we avert a tragedy, even though we only have a single chance to do so? Please watch, and witness the struggle of those who could not be spared.
